Winter Coat Donation
We received the following letter from Ellen Kleckner of New London Youth Affairs thanking us for our donation of winter coats to teens in the New London area.
On behalf of the teens and families Youth Affairs serves, we are very very thankful to the New London Lodge of Elks for their donation of over 40 winter coats. Teens in Action members benefited from receiving new winter coats, especially essential during the recent winter snowstorms and extreme cold. Many of the teens moved to the United States this past year, from warm climates, and did not own winter coats. Families participating in the Early Childhood Family Center also were grateful for the contribution. Families struggling to meet basic needs and keep up with ongoing clothing needs of growing children were especially appreciative. One child who was resistant to wearing his outgrown coat was eager to wear his new better sized coat. Another family who was bundling their child in sweaters and blankets was also truly thankful.
